SCHROEDER OUTRAISES DUNKIN
Chicago, IL – David Schroeder, Democratic candidate for state representative, outraised the incumbent Ken Dunkin according to records filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections.
For the period July 1, 2009 – December 31, 2009, campaign finance reports show that Schroeder had receipts totaling $95,238 (which includes $50,000 in loans), while Dunkin showed receipts of only $25,900 for the same period. A third candidate, Gwendolyn Drake, has not filed any campaign finance reports.
The reports also show a stark contrast in the source of the contributions to the two candidates. Schroeder’s contributions were exclusively from individuals. Dunkin’s report, on the other hand, itemizes only one contribution for $1,000. The remaining itemized contributions were from special interests such as payday loan companies, public utilities, and lobbyists.
Records from the State Board of Elections also show that Schroeder continues to outraise Dunkin. Since January 1, 2010, Dunkin has reported raising a total of $6,500 on A-1 forms, while Schroeder has reported $21,000 in similar contributions.
The primary election will be held on February 2, 2010.
