Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our many campaign volunteers, today we were able to file 2,000 petition signatures with the state board of elections.  This is four times the minimum 500 signatures we needed to qualify for the ballot.  Thank you very much to everyone who put in hours of time in all kinds of weather to canvass voters in order to get their names on our petitions.  Without all of the hard work of so many people, we would never have passed this important milestone in the campaign.

We are now 99 days from Election Day, February 2, 2009, and while we have the petition drive behind us, the real campaign is about to begin.  I look forward to working with all of you in the remaining three months of the campaign and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate everyone’s previous efforts and support.
