The Chicago Sun-Times endorsed David Schroeder citing his “thoughtful and progressive views on tax policy, ethics reform and school finance.” The Sun-Times referred to David’s opponent as “a Blagojevich apologist and a disappointment.”

Chicago Tribune
The Tribune wrote that Ken Dunkin, was a defender of impeached ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich and that Dunkin missed the impeachment vote. “Voters don’t have to put up with that,” the Tribune wrote. In endorsing Schroeder, the Tribune said that he supports a reform agenda and would “honestly represent his district.”

43rd Ward Democrats
The 43rd Ward represents a crucial area for our campaign on the northern part of the district. The 43rd Ward Democratic Organization is made up of volunteers and activists in Chicago’s Gold Coast, Old Town, and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

Alderman Brendan Reilly
42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly was elected in 2007 and has established himself one of Chicago’s brightest young leaders. As a leader in the 5th District who has stood for change and reform, Alderman Reilly is backing David.

Commissioner Debra Shore
Debra Shore represents residents of the 5th district on the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD). She has been active in bringing good government reform and environmental policies to the MWRD.
