CHICAGO TRIBUNE ENDORSES SCHROEDER

Chicago, IL – David Schroeder, Democratic candidate for state representative, was endorsed by the Chicago Tribune today.

The Tribune noted that Schroeder’s opponent, incumbent Ken Dunkin, was a defender of impeached ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich and that Dunkin missed the impeachment vote.  “Voters don’t have to put up with that,” the Tribune wrote.

In endorsing Schroeder, the Tribune said that he supports a reform agenda and would “honestly represent his district.”

Schroeder was previously endorsed by Citizen Action, 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly, MWRD Commissioner Deb Shore, 43rd Ward Democrats, and Committeemen Michele Smith and John Corrigan.  He received an “A” rating from Illinois Citizens for Handgun Control, the highest rating given to challengers.

The complete endorsement is available at http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-illhouse-20100120,0,3667861.story.

The primary election will take place on February 2, 2010.
