A Note from David on the Personal PAC Awards Luncheon
I was pleased to attend Personal PAC’s 20th Anniversary Awards Luncheon on October 19th. I was the only candidate for State Representative from the 5th District who attended and I was invited to join all of the other pro-choice elected officials and candidates to be introduced from the stage at the start of the luncheon.
The Personal PAC Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Dr. George Tiller, a fearless provider of women’s reproductive health care, who was brutally assassinated in the lobby of his church on May 31, 2009. The award was accepted by his widow, Jeanne Tiller, who gave a quite moving acceptance speech. Two of Dr. Tiller’s children were also present.

Prudence Beidler received the Irving B. Harris Spirit of Choice Award and Terry Cosgrove, President and CEO of Personal PAC since its inception, also received a special recognition award.
Sandra Bernhard was the guest speaker and gave a funny talk after graciously posing for at least an hour for photos with attendees.
Unfortunately, I did not win the raffle prize of a fantastic trip for two to New York City.
